Oppenberg was the name given to the anomaly identified in center quadrant of the Charon Observatory viewing space. It later came out that Oppenberg was a secret Isaacland research asteroid. At the time, Isaacland attempted to suppress the information recording Oppenberg's passage through the the Sol System. This created general mistrust of Isaacland, with some radicals condemning them for disrupting the flow of free information. Some even compared Isaacland to SmarT, to the shock of many, including SmarT itself. These particular troublemakers were in fact dealt with by SmarT operatives and were never heard of again.
Of course, we now know that Oppenberg was conducting research in the spatiometric Lutian Effect found near the eccentricity of Pluto's orbit.
